Project: Jubilee 1A field development

Scope of works:

To supply an Emergency release cutting system which would deploy a cut in 2 seconds. This was for use on the deck of a vessel to cut a tensioned 200mm diameter nylon mooring rope.

Equipment supplied:

Cutter package comprising – JAG HGC200 hydraulic guillotine cable cutter with roller guide system to accurately guide and protect the material to be cut including a horizontal mounting frame to achieve working height requirements and stability of the cutter unit.

Control unit comprising – Sealed steel enclosure, hydraulic air pump, hydraulic hose assemblies, gauges, valves, bladder accumulators and twin isolation control units to avoid accidental release.

Order awarded:

JAG hydraulic cutting equipment was chosen for this application because of the ability to supply a standard cutter product that gave a cost effective solution which forfilled the technical brief.

Feedback:

The equipment was well received by the client after initial cutting trials exceed expectations.
