Project: TechnipFMC - New production equipment for an Umbilical manufacturing plant

Company overview:

TechnipFMC are a NYSE listed Oil and Gas Company that is a Global leader in energy technology for the subsea and surface operations holding six World Records in subsea umbilical systems.

Scope of works:

To supply a hydraulic cutting tool which would be suitable for use in a factory environment. This was used to cut Umbilical cables up to 300mm in diameter during the manufacturing process.

Equipment supplied:

Cutter package comprising – JAG SPHGC300 hydraulic guillotine cutter with additional mounting brackets designed to hold the hydraulic cutter securely in place, the cutter was ordered with optional replacement blade set to allow minimal downtime during maintenance requirements.
Mobile workstation comprising – Two piece horizontal mounting frame specifically designed so the hydraulic cutter would be at the correct working height when placed in the operating location. The mounting frame also included four crane lifting points and two forklift truck access points so the cutter could be easily relocated around the factory.

Order awarded:

JAG hydraulic cutting equipment was chosen for this application because of its proven track record, mobility and well engineered design and could perform a 300mm diameter cut which forfilled the technical brief.

Feedback:

The equipment went through a series of successful FAT’s and was well received by the Client.
