Project: Size reduction of seatbelt pretensioners
Scope of works:
To supply a hydraulic cutting system to size reduce seatbelt pretensioners by separating the bucket from pyrotechnic charge. This would be used in a manufacturing plant to cut multiple units of bundled 5/16″ diameter stainless steel cable to enable them to disassemble and scrap the pretensioners
Equipment supplied:
Cutter package comprising – 1 x JAG HCU90 hydraulic cable cutter unit and replacement cutting blade, Pump unit package comprising – 1 x Hydraulic hand pump, pressure gauge, valve adaptor and hydraulic hose assemblies
Order awarded:
JAG hydraulic cutting equipment was chosen for this application because of the ability to be operated remotely due to the hazardous nature of the pyrotechnic charge and the ability of the cutter to handle multiple pretensioners per cutting cycle
